The height of Mt. Seunghak is 496m above sea level. It is located to the west of Mt. Gudeok and Mt. Siyak and just behind Dangni-dong. It is commonly called the Mountain at the Back of Dong-a University. There is a legend that Mt. Seunghak was given its name by the great monk Muhak, of the late Goryeo, when he climbed up to the top of the mountain and described the feature of the mountain as a flying crane.
The mountain is especially famous for its beautiful eulalia. The eulalia field stretches over Anbu and Jeseokgol, on the eastern side of Mt. Seunghak. It is the greatest eulalia field in Busan, which occupies an area covering tens of thousands of pyeong. The spectacle of reeds dancing to the wind is incomparable to any other mountain famous for eulalia.
There are four courses reaching to the eulalia ridgeline: a steep course from Eomgung, a course from Dangni or Goejeong through Jeseokgol behind Saha-gu Office, a course going up from Daesa-dong Flowery Town along the road around the Meteorological Administration Radar Observatory down to Imdo, and the usual climbing course leading to Dong-a University~Jandeungi~peak.
The climbing course that starts from Dong-a University and goes through Seodaesin-dong Flowery Town, Mt. Gudeok, Mt. Gubong and Mt. Sujeong, provides climbers with a great view of Busan.
