Reopening on November 7 with upgraded facilities and newly created specialized spaces
Dangni Small Library reopened on November 7 as a newly renovated, child-friendly multi-purpose cultural space.
The library was selected last August for a Busan Metropolitan City public project and underwent a full renovation from January to October this year. Originally opened in 2014, the library has upgraded its aging facilities through this renovation, introducing an English Zone, a science-focused learning area, and new digital content.
The 348.55 m² space now features a range of themed facilities. On the first floor, visitors will find a children’s room tailored for infants and elementary students, the “Imagination Workshop” for hands-on activities using digital devices, a “Smart Farm” where children can observe plant growth, and an “AR Zone” integrating augmented reality (AR) technology. The second floor includes an “Immersive Experience Zone” for virtual reality activities, a “Program Room” dedicated to reading programs, and comfortable reading seats equipped with enhanced lighting and ergonomic chairs.
The renovated library will also introduce new technology-driven content, including virtual role-playing programs using digital materials, creative activities using advanced tools such as 3D pens and digital plant-cultivation devices, and electronic bulletin boards for library announcements and information.
